Pet surgery is a daily occurrence at our Langley veterinary facility. These vet surgeries range from simple wound repairs, to complex abdominal surgery. We only use the safest anesthetic protocols and the most current techniques to make sure that your pet’s surgery is a success.
Common or Routine Pet Surgery
Lumpectomy-mass removal with or without Histopathology.
Histopathology is the examination of a sample of tissue or cells so by a pathologist under a microscope.
Eyes: “cherry-eye” repair, entropion correction, enucleation, keratectomy
Ears: Aural hematoma
Nose: Nasal fold resection
Abdominal:
- GDV-gastric dilation, also prophylactic gastropexy at time of spay or neuter
- Stomach/intestinal – foreign object removal, biopsies, resections
- Hernia repairs- umbilical, perineal or inguinal
- Spleen removal
- Bladder/urethral surgery-stone removal
- Pyometra
- Spays and neuters (see under spay and neuter)
- Cesarean section
Joints Bones:
Fracture repairs: on all types of fractures, using plates, screws, pins, external fixators or splints
Cruciate Ligament Repairs (ACL): Extracapsular or Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA)
Luxating Patella Surgery
Dental Pet Surgery:
Cleft palate repair, tooth extraction
There are many reasons why your pet may be in pain. Some conditions may not need pet surgery, but it is important to bring your pet in to see a veterinarian right away to receive a proper diagnosis.
